Whenever I fly into LaGuardia, I’ll look at the landing patterns before my flight so I can sit on the side of the airplane that’s going to fly in with the best view of Manhattan, where landing airplanes fly over the city at an altitude of 3,500 feet. If the winds are from the south or the east, sit on the right side of the plane. If they’re from the north or the west, sit on the left side. When in doubt, pick the right side of the airplane.
